Our mission at FireCat! Press

About us

FireCat! Press, founded in 2013, offers the complete Literary and Digital products of Dr. Nadine Vaughan.Williams. Whether Novels; Childrens’ Stories; a Collection of Childrens’ Books called The Adventures of Engine Dave; theme tee-shirts; or related Audio-Visual products, she infuses each of her works with humor and sound psychological principles.

A licensed clinical psychologist, existentialist and former psychology professor, Dr. Vaughan.Williams, knows more about the inner workings of the human mind than most. And as she continues her work, individually and with groups, her keen intuition and fact-based science weave into her stories mystery, fantasy ,and lore. Traveling into the recesses of others' dark nights of the soul parallels her own travels into the heart of the Amazon Jungle and up to the peaks of the Scottish Highlands.

Partnering with her at FireCat! Press is David D’Ardenne, another world traveler whose take on the world goes beyond that of the ordinary traveler. With a career at NBC news, his office was often found in the trenches of foreign soil. Bringing his technical skills as a Sound Recordist and Videographer, to their work, both D’Ardenne and Vaughan.Williams personally design and edit each book and A-V product.

The colorful designs found in the Engine Dave and the Tiny Treasures books are those of excellent folk artist, Heather Manrique. Heather is also available for video and television character design.

Books that laugh you and may make you cry...

Tiny Treasures: Tales of Courage and Hope for Children Everywhere, introduces a compilation of ten stories, under one cover. They address challenges found in today’s social media world, including cyber bullying, loss of a parent, depression; even an exploration into the jungle of a young child’s mind, following her parents’ divorce. Tiny Treasures encourages young people, and their families,  to let the healing begin.

The Adventures of Engine Dave, is comprised of a series of six beautifully illustrated books that follow the life and times of a boy who loves trains. Each book contains colorful paintings by gifted folk artist, Heather Manrique,  and takes the reader on yet another adventure  -- somewhere in the world -- as Engine Dave, the boy grows into a man and decides to finally follow his childhood dreams.

Each of Dr. Vaughan.Williams' stories, as well as her young adult and adult novels: Native Land: Lost in the Mystery of Time; FireCat! The Legend of Amazon Sage,  reach beyond a limited cultural and geographic experience to a greater global awareness. Designed to bringing hope and courage to people everywhere, whether the reader is young or simply young-at-heart, each will be treated to insights that give hope for our shared future.
